The Cast of Characters:

Black Mirror originated first as the name for a video blog that I started over the winter break 2010/2011.  I had been carrying a video camera around with me for some time capturing documentation of my shenanigans.  As an EMAC student I wanted to have some form of communication of which I could blog on a regular basis.  Being as it is that I am sort of new to the whole writing for writing's sake thing, I figured artful video would easily take the place of my lack of writing prowess.  As to promote my video blog I initiated a Facebook profile named Black Mirror.  I figured it would be easier to attract "friends" if I registered Black Mirror as a female and added some images that I swiped from the internet of hot models dressed in black.  Thus began the narrative.
Whyte Window came into existence at the suggestion of an aritst comrade and collaborator Val Curry.  For some time Val and I had been playing games on Facebook by trolling and tagging one another in less than admirable images.  The Black Mirror video blog and Facebook profile was getting buzz amongst our greater clique of friends and Val intuitively suggested that the Black Mirror character needed an online antagonist.  Thus was born Whyte Window.  The idea of alternate personae really began to take shape once Whyte Window became a collaboration of multiple people.  Anywhere from four to two different collaborators have posted/spoken/acted online through Whyte Window.  Through these collaborative interactions the greater narrative of these characters has taken form.


Finally, Black Burka came to be as an inspired idea I had while running.  The initial thought of course was to add another character to the saga.  I brainstormed possibilities and came to rest upon the idea of a woman in a black burqa.  I felt that this particular image is ingrained into the American psyche of fear.  So to was formed a Facebook profile for Black Burka and throughout the last five to six months many dramas real and imagined have taken shape in both cyber space and reality.  The interactions of these online characters has developed the overall narrative of which I am calling "THe iTCH".  This narrative is still in process and is being forged with each new collaborative action.
